Having trouble with your remote-controlled gas log or fireplace insert? Remember that, typically, both the handheld remote AND the receiver have batteries. So check them both. If that doesn’t solve the problem, be sure that your batteries have not leaked and caused corrosion on the contacts – usually a green color. If there is a corrosive film, carefully clean the contacts with fine sandpaper so that you get a clean connection from the battery to the metal terminal. If that doesn’t work, well, you may have to call us!
