HIGOLD Materials: Care & Maintenance
EXTRUDED ALUMINUM
Aluminum is a popular material for outdoor furniture due to its durability and low maintenance. HIGOLD utilizes extruded aluminum to offer a metal frame which is stronger and less porous than cast aluminum.
HIGOLD’s aluminum frames are further protected by a powder-based paint that is bonded and then baked on, resulting in a world-class finish with exceptional consistency and durability. The HIGOLD powder coated aluminum frames are weather resistant, extremely durable and robust.
To increase the longevity of your aluminum furniture, it is recommended that you wash every 6-12 months with a non-abrasive mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. This will remove dirt, oil, chemicals and other substances. Repeat more frequently if desired.
TEAK
Teak is a strong and reliable hardwood. Its excellent durability, low maintenance, weatherproof properties and unmistakable good looks make this the perfect wood for your outdoor furniture.
Over time, the wood’s natural tendency will take on an elegant silver and grey look which develops from the aging process and being exposed to sunlight. The integrity of teak wood is maintained throughout and does not degrade like other lesser natural materials.
Teak has a natural resistance to mold and insects; however, regular cleaning every 6-12 months will prevent mildew and unwanted discoloration.
First, wipe off loose dirt. Next, rinse with water. Then, use a mild soapy water solution with a soft bristle brush to scrub until clean. DO NOT use a metal brush or high-pressure cleaner. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry fully. For tougher stains, try a teak cleaner. Follow the cleaning product’s instructions.
To maintain the woods natural color, you need to utilize specialized teak oils. Oiling your teak twice a year will slow down the natural weathering process. Follow the oil instructions. Generally, the teak oiling process consists of a two-step process: first clean the wood and then when dry, apply the oil. We recommend that once your furniture is oiled, that it be kept out of direct sunlight for a few hours.
CUSHIONS
All cushions from HIGOLD are engineered to perform and last. All cushions (except Borromeo, Emoti & Rodeo items) utilize solution-dyed acrylic fabric, an industry leading technology in outdoor fabric manufacturing. This fabric is resistant to fading, moisture damage, and mold. You should air dry prior to storage for long periods to prevent mold growth.
For routine maintenance or to remove easy stains and spots from your fabric: wipe off loose dirt, spray on a mild non-abrasive household cleaning solution (water and soap) and gently scrub with a soft bristle brush to clean. Allow cleaning solution to soak into the fabric before rinsing. Rinse thoroughly to remove all the soap residue. Once clean, air dry. For heavy soiling we recommend you consult a professional fabric cleaner.
For solution-dyed acrylic cushion routine maintenance and stain removal: First mix a solution of ¼ cup mild soap and ¼ cup of bleach per gallon of water. Spray or pour the solution on the entirety of the cushion and let soak for approximately 15 minutes. Once soaked, clean the surface with a soft-bristle brush, sponge, or towel. Then rinse the cushion thoroughly with a hose to remove all the soap residue. Finally, prop your cushions vertically in sunlight and let them air dry.

This material is highly resistant to thermal shock and physical stress, is durable, scratch-resistant, and transparent, making it ideal for a variety of applications such as cookware, oven doors, and laboratory equipment, but also for year-round outdoor living!
SINTERED STONE
Sintered stone is a type of engineered stone made from natural minerals such as quartz and porcelain, which are compressed and heated at high temperatures to create a dense, durable and non-porous material. This process, creates a material that is highly resistant to scratches, stains, and UV light.
Due to its strength and durability, sintered stone is also popular in commercial and outdoor settings.
A glass or stone surface outdoors typically attracts and receives more dirt than an indoor glass or stone surface. In order to keep your glass or stone looking clean, use a micro-fiber cloth to wipe away any dirt. Next, wash with a mild soapy-water solution, then dry thoroughly and finally utilize any glass cleaner to finish up. It is important to avoid using anything that could scratch in the cleaning process.
